Opposing Obama
When I was a young man, I rooted against America in the Olympics because I thought Reagan and Bush were evil. The scourge of crack cocaine made me sick. Iran-Contra disgusted me. Same thing as Supreme Court nominee Clarence, with his Tom ass.
The Empire seemed undeniably evil, even through Clinton. Then, around age 30, kids came and I kinda got over lusting for Babylon’s fall. Barack Obama’s election 11 months ago extinguished my desire to see an end to the United States. (Local law enforcement is now doing all it can to revive the dead embers.)
If you’ve seen what I’ve seen in life, it’s just part of growing up.
Now I watch the President’s haters and am convinced that if they can’t have their America white and old school, then no one should have her at all. They wanna oversee the country’s demise, let the Earth rot, and get cribs in space for their most elite ranks. If only the bastards would come clean.
Since awakening at 3 a.m. to news of Obama’s surprise Nobel win and the instantly backward debate of whether the award is deserved, about all I’ve said and thought augments the following:
Dude earned Peace Prize contention from the minute he finished that game-changing speech in Istanbul. The shift from Access of Evil thinking to genuine diplomacy is enormous, not mere projection from Europe. Figuring out how to embrace today’s honor should be nothing like drama.
Obama’s haters and the chickenshits who enable them talk about a better world. Really though? They are just averse to fundamental change.
In conclusion, go U.S. over Honduras tomorrow.

I pretty much agree except that it’s a bit ironic to give a peace prize to a leader of a country waging hot wars in two other countries. but hey, to be fair, he didn’t start ‘em and it’s not easy to end those wars now…

nope. and that point’s probably definitive.

Considering our standing in the world community, it’s kind of shocking that any American could win that prize. Give Obama an A for effort, but until we start seeing some results, his critics on both sides will have plenty of ammunition.
On a slightly related topic Donnell, what do you think about the group of black players in the NFL who say they’d never play for the Rams if Limbaugh bought the team? That’s a brave stance to take, even if the Rams suck. In a sick sort of way, I think Limbaugh would love to have blacks playing for them so he could feel like a slave owner.
Or am I out of line?

in a way, i think you could read the prize as an Anyone But Bush selection. but it’s more than that, of course.
it’s a far cry from the apolitical jordan stance. and probably a deterrent to league owners.
can you imagine addressing rush as an Owner? gotta be a pretty unpalatable prospect!
